“I don’t have enough money to replace my building’s roof!”

You’re probably not surprised to hear that we get this a lot. Commercial roofs are very expensive to replace, given the materials, labor, and specialized equipment we must have to bring a project to completion. Even for roofs in really bad shape, it can be tough to justify completely replacing the roof.

Before we go over alternate options besides roof replacement, though, you need to know this: Just because someone says you need to replace the roof, doesn’t mean you should. You have to be aware that some roofers want to encourage roof replacement for their own personal gain – and other roofers are just not knowledgeable enough.

I’ve seen plenty of roofs get replaced prematurely, when the owners could have gotten another 10 or 20 years from them. Don’t be too hasty to replace it unless it’s just that far gone.
With that said, here are a few options that might work if the roof really needs to be replaced and you can’t afford to do it.

Repair

The first option is simply to repair the most egregious leaks or problems. While it’s not ideal, if you can’t afford to outright replace a dying roof, you can get a little more life out of it with some repairs.

Of course, you run the risk of throwing good money after bad, so this isn’t your best option if you can afford to start replacing.

On the other hand, in many cases, all it really needs is to be repaired by qualified roofers. We can help you determine if repair will be sufficient.

Restoration

Another option to consider before roof replacement is restoration. We offer a product called Ultra SHIELD that can protect and extend the life of your roof.

Partial Replacement

If you just can’t find the money to replace a roof that needs replacement, we offer partial replacement too. We’ll start with one small section and replace it with the new roof material. We can break up the rest of the installation over multiple years to make it more palatable to your budget.

Remember that we’ll tell you the truth about whether your roof needs to be replaced. In those cases, it’s definitely smarter to do it if you have the money, but if not, we can discuss other options.

In the end, the worst option is simply to ignore the problem, because that’ll just lead to more expense down the road.
