At the recent 2014 GKIC Conference in Dallas, I had the pleasure of meeting Emmitt Smith, who’s a wonderful, down-to-earth guy. He’s known for his legendary career as an NFL running back for the Dallas Cowboys, frequently appearing on lists of the top one hundred NFL players of all time!

Anyway, I approached him, and we struck up a conversation. After a minute, I said to him, “You know, since you’re retired, I have the perfect job for you!”

He said, “Oh, yeah? What’s that?”

I replied, “I own a commercial roofing company, and I think you’d fit perfectly on one of our crews.”  He looked with a puzzle face and then he said “its too hot on the roof, otherwise I would take you up on the offer.” It was a thrill to meet Emmitt and I loved his sense of humor! I hope you liked this story.
