Here’s the deal, we’re growing our commercial roofing department team and we’re looking for a CAD Drafter to add to our team. We’re going to skip all the clichés about this “exciting and challenging and fulfilling opportunity.”

DETAILS OF THE ROLE
Collect Data and Draw
We want someone who makes things happen on a daily basis. In this position that means collecting data from multiple sources including project site, artfully and accurately drawing roof plans with roof details that will knock our client’s socks off and help our production crews deliver on what was promised.
The Work (The BIG 3)
- Artfully and accurately deliver drawings
- Develop and maintain excellent relationship with Production Manager, Estimating Team, Sales Team and Clients
- Provide quick turn around on all assigned projects
Expertise
- Associates Degree or above preferred.
- Autocad LT 2017 Training Certificate or two years of verified work experience from previous employer(s).
- Must possess the ability to read and interpret construction drawings, client sketches as well as ability to create and modify drawings in CAD software.
- Must have a high mathematic and logical aptitude, especially with fractions and decimals as a unit of measure (millimeters and inches).
- Accuracy in data entry.
- Driven to win, ability to multitask and work independently.
- You need to have a natural talent to start and finish projects on time.
- Must be highly detail oriented and can solve problems with little guidance.
Track And Follow Up
You need to be organized and serious about taking notes and following up. You’re the type of person who does what you say you’ll do and never makes hollow promises. A huge part of that is remembering the promises you make and why you made them. You have superpowers when it comes to scheduling projects to maximize time and money. You execute the work with excellence and a high sense of urgency. You don’t understand procrastinators because you are not one.
What You Will Own
As our CAD Drafter, you will be response for creating roof plans and roof details to help our clients and roofing crews clearly understand what we will be doing before the projects begin.
You’ll get to co-create, help design, develop and assess project details and specifications to make sure everything we do is done correctly and complies with what we promised our client. One of your main focus will be the accuracy and looks of the entire construction submittal package.
You will perform measurements of roofs (aerial images, digital files, hand sketches and on-site visits) and draw roof plans with roof details for sales and production teams. You will make job site visits to survey existing conditions and provide other assistance to the Production Manager as requested. Meeting deadlines is crucial for this position.
